ウディ・アレン 「マッチポイント」

先日偶然見た映画Match Point （邦題：マッチポイント）が、ウディ・アレン監督の物だったと知って驚いた。聞いた事が無いタイトルだったが何となく雰囲気に引かれて見たら、以外に面白く印象に残る映画だったが、舞台がロンドンだったので、まさかウディ・アレン監督のものとは思っていなかった。

でも聞いて納得。サスペンスのような映画だけれど、ただのサスペンスに終わらず、ほんの小さな運によって人の運命が大きく左右されること、人間の罪について考えさせられる映画。

映画の台詞より：

The man who said "I'd rather be lucky than good" saw deeply into life. People are afraid to face how great a part of life is dependent on luck. It's scary to think so much is out of one's control. There are moments in a match when the ball hits the top of the net, and for a split second, it can either go forward or fall back. With a little luck, it goes forward, and you win. Or maybe it doesn't, and you lose.
